My process
Business case for the redesign
Loopify is an e-commerce platform that focuses on offering sustainable and eco-friendly products to conscientious consumers. With the growing awareness of environmental issues and the increasing demand for eco-friendly alternatives, Loopify has witnessed substantial growth over the past few years. However, to maintain its competitive edge and cater to evolving customer needs, a comprehensive redesign of the platform is necessary.
Objectives
Ideation
While designing the homepage, the following are things I deemed necessary:
Emphasize sustainability
Make sustainability the central theme of the homepage design. Use imagery, graphics, and messaging that highlight the eco-friendly nature of the products offered on Loopify.
Featured section
Showcase a curated selection of featured sustainable products on the homepage. Displaying products with appealing images and compelling descriptions will entice users to explore further.
Clear navigation
Ensure the homepage has a clear and intuitive navigation system. The primary product categories should be easily accessible, allowing users to find what they need quickly.
Sustainability Index
Showcase the sustainability index so users can clearly see how much impact they are having on the environment. This reinforces a positive feeling in the user, increasing their interaction on the site.
Result
The result was a homepage designed keeping in-line with UX principles and Loopify's brand image.

The homepage is key to any e-commerce platform. For a sustainability focused platform such as Loopify, the colors must scream sustainability. Using the straw-colored white along with different shades of green gives a more eco-friendly look. Using rounded edges and key details such as the font conveys Loopify's idea.

Providing different options at the top and right under it comes the three different Sustainability scores. For a company like Loopify it is essential that people feel like they are making a more sustainable choice.
Website assets
While designing assets, I had other things to keep in mind. The featured section is dependent on season. For example, while displaying the dress, we could feature it in the summer. Anther product was the "diya" which is a tradition Indian lamp. "Diya's" are sold around the festival Diwali which is the festival of lights celebrated in November. I used colors which align with the materials used in each product. I also showed the sustainability metric and the materials for each product to emphasize on the sustainability.
My takeaways
Designing concise UX while conveying a message
Designing a homepage screaming sustainability and eco-friendly was key. Showing key pieces of information such as the sustainability index while making it convenient for the end user was key.
Collaborating with stakeholders
While working with my mentor under the CEO of the company, stakeholder interviews were key to understanding their vision for the company. It is important to understand the holistic needs for a business while redesigning something as key as the homepage.
Working in a fast-paced environment
Communicating frequently and clearly with different people, understanding everyone's vision and adapting to change was key. Using visual media like sketches and mock-ups were important to communicating my ideas and understanding theirs.
